OUR MISSION
JDRF is the leading charitable funder and advocate of type 1 (juvenile) diabetes research worldwide. The mission of JDRF is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.

Since its founding in 1970 by parents of children with type 1 diabetes, JDRF has awarded more than $1.4 billion to diabetes research, including $101 million in FY2009.  In FY 2009, JDRF funded reserach projects in 22 countries throughout the world, includig more than 40 human clinical trials.

OUR GOALS
At JDRF, Staff and Volunteers work together in order to:

  •     accelerate Research with evidence of dramatic progress;
  •     achieve Budget of 7% growth while containing expenses;
  •     be recognized as a donor centric organization; and
  •     consistantly perform at a high level, with more people, who are more involved, working more efficiently.

The Colorado Springs Branch of JDRF is a branch of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International. The Rocky Mountain Chapter oversees all fundraising events and operations for the areas of Colorado, Wyoming and Eastern Montana.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International reports to the Internal Revenue Service using the for 990 under the tax identification number of 23-1907729. JDRF is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation, and all chapters and branches are covered under this umbrella.  All donations to JDRF and its chapters are tax-deductible.
